Behind our Maimous was a mother-daughter team: Parthena Joannidou carefully crafted the monkeys from socks for us, while her daughter Anastasia took care of sales. Parthena passed away in August 2025 at the age of 83. She sewed the last 50 sock monkeys for the Beau Séjour in spring 2025. Her work will therefore remain part of our hotel and the maimous will continue to greet our guests in the hotel rooms. Some of them would rather explore the wide world and are waiting for new owners in the hotel store.
The colors and patterns of the maimous vary, each sock monkey is unique.
